    4. Enhanced Safe Links and Attachments

    Purpose: Protect against malicious URLs and attachments with deeper scanning and analysis.

    Steps to Configure Enhanced Safe Links

    1. In the Microsoft 365 Defender Portal, navigate to Threat Policies > Safe Links.
    2. Configure a Safe Links policy:
      • Enable URL scanning in emails and Office apps.
      • Turn on time-of-click verification for URLs to check for threats when clicked.
      • Enable Do not allow users to click through to the original URL for maximum protection.
    3. Assign the policy to users, groups, or domains.

    Steps to Configure Enhanced Safe Attachments

    1. In Threat Policies, navigate to Safe Attachments.
    2. Create a new Safe Attachments policy:
      • Turn on ATP for attachments delivered in email.
      • Choose Dynamic Delivery to allow emails to be sent without attachments until scanning is complete.
      • Set actions for malicious files: Block, Replace, or Quarantine.
    3. Assign to users or groups, and save the policy.
