To turn off Dark Mode in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:
On Windows:
Open Microsoft Word: Launch the application.
Go to File: Click on the File menu in the top-left corner.
Open Options: Select Options from the bottom of the menu.
Change Office Theme:
In the Word Options dialog box, go to the General tab.
Under the Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office section, locate the Office Theme dropdown.
Select White or Colorful to disable Dark Mode.
Click OK: Press OK to save the changes.
On Mac:
Open Microsoft Word: Launch the application.
Go to Word Preferences:
Click on Word in the top menu bar.
Select Preferences.
Disable Dark Mode:
In Preferences, go to the General section.
Look for an option like Turn off Dark Mode or Disable Dark Canvas (the terminology may vary).
Save Changes: Close the Preferences window to apply the changes.
Additional Tip:
If your system-wide theme is set to Dark Mode (on Windows or macOS), Word may also follow the system settings. You can change the system theme to Light Mode if needed:
Windows: Go to Settings > Personalization > Colors and switch to Light Mode.
Mac: Go to System Preferences > General and select Light under Appearance.
